Abstract:

The issue of undergraduates’ ethics upbringing is urgent nowadays as it deals with the realities of current development in Russia. New opportunities as well as adverse implications, such as a lack of values and emotional culture, an ethical enfeeblement have appeared in the society. Under the Russian Federation regulatory documents in the sphere of education this paper proves that to bring up undergraduates’ ethics is vital and feasible.

The validity of educational process at university to bring up undergraduates’ ethics is justified; authorial definitions of such notions as ethics and ethics upbringing have been worked out.

Taking into account the fact that any educational activity is regarded in respect of personal qualities modeling, a set of certain qualities provides a harmonious individual development. According to this definition, a particular focus is on deducing a system of educational terms to encourage an efficient undergraduates’ upbringing in educational process. Moreover, an academic interaction to implement an interdisciplinary integration is examined as a crucial educational term of undergraduates’ ethics upbringing.

An interdisciplinary integration is identified as a peculiar type of educational policy including guidelines how to deliver a bulk of educational content in a proper way, how to make a multidimensional educational activity. As a result, students should not only acquire knowledge but they should be able to apply accumulated skills in various areas of human activities.

Furthermore, the authors describe the essence of academic interaction, its goals to fulfil an interdisciplinary integration in order to bring up undergraduates’ ethics. Levels of academic interaction treated as forms of interdisciplinary integration implementation are singled out.

Having analyzed educational programs of the following subjects: Philosophy, Cultural studies, Law, Sociology, The Russian language and Speech culture, Political science and Foreign language, the authors state that the results give a boost to mastering ethics. The practical part has a series of actions: to schedule topics of educational programs due to the content of the above mentioned disciplines; to implement diverse forms of instruction (integrated lessons, business role-playing games); to host a range of interdisciplinary projects (interdisciplinary excursions, interdisciplinary contests, interdisciplinary academic competitions, students’ interdisciplinary conferences).

The scientific experiment on the basis of educational process in South Ural State University has been conducted for many years. This paper issues the results and methodology, as the authors place the utmost importance on a practical part of academic interaction to implement an interdisciplinary integration and consequently to bring up undergraduates’ ethics in educational process.
