Abstract:
This article present an argument about the implementation of the Competencies Model in the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), particularly in an new creation campus “Escuela de Ciencias de la Ingeniería y Tecnología, ECITEC”. This campus offers careers in Architecture, Design and eleven Engineering careers. In this work we present a review of the implementation of the Competencies Model especially in the first two semesters in Engineering named “Basic Sciences Trunk”. We present a brief description of the Educational Model adaptation and at the same time, the review of the results since this implementation. The main contribution of this work is the collaborative work as a referee, the organization for knowledge academy and finally the importance of the teacher training. Also, this work is centered in two important questions: Why and what to teach? And How UABC has adapted the recommendations of International Education Agency as the World Bank, OCDE, and the Bologna Process for that purpose? In addition to this, we include some experiences of implementing the Competencies Model in Mexico according to the global changes in education. Keywords:
