Abstract:
The results of the problem definition and conceptual design phases have greatly affected the attractiveness of services using digital technologies. The outcome of these phases is highly dependent on the application designers' and the developers' creative abilities. Also, it is difficult for designers to quickly create many solutions without the support of a creative thinking process.

Inventive problem-solving techniques, engineering design, and design thinking methodologies have been proposed to overcome this difficulty. Also, we developed a Creative and Inventive Design Support System (CDSS), incorporating these traditional methodologies and thought processes. Finally, for a new deployment of CDSS, we applied it to the application design process of digital transformation (DX) for student education through a project-based learning environment (PBL).
Because of the questionnaire survey of project team members, we found that abstract ideas are necessary to consider DX solutions. Furthermore, we found that when services are drawn abstractly, it is challenging to clarify the phenomenon due to various UML descriptions.

However, we found that the QFD matrix for problem identification and the use of Osborn's checklist and IDEO's Method Cards were effective for examining abstract issues. It can also be appreciated that issues and countermeasures that the team could not derive were derived through individual work.
