Abstract:
BACKGROUND
Stratification, within Dentistry, is a restorative technique that allows us to control the anatomy, color and optical effects of the teeth. Since the anterior zone is the one that demands more aesthetic in our daily practice, it is important for postgraduate students to able to learn a technique that helps us to secure predictable and appraisable results.

OBJECTIVES
1. - To be able to realize a preclinical learning of a technique of stratification on anterior teeth to apply it on the patient later.

2. - To be able to evaluate all the students with the same objective parameters previously established.

MATERIAL AND METHOD
First a photography will be taken from the vestibular face of an upper central incisor extracted due to periodontal reasons. Next the tooth will be introduced in a fast setting silicone putty until it is totally hardened. Later the silicone throughout the longitudinal axis of the tooth will be cut with a leaf of scalpel so that there will be are two halves that will represent the tracks of the vestibular and palatal faces of the tooth. With these tracks, known as silicone key, the crown of the tooth will be made on the part of the student.
The technique will be realized as an incremental technique with composite resins with different tones, opacities and particles of filling. The student will have to reproduce all the details. The photography previously taken will serve as a reference to draw the chromatic map of the tooth. All the students will have the same photography and key of silicone and will be able to realize this technique as many times as necessary to learn it to apply it clinically.

The parameters chromatic map, silicone key, palatal face, tone and thickness of dentine, tone and thickness of enamel, texture, polished and characterizations of the incisal edge will be evaluated.

RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS
It is important in Restorative Dentistry to know and to practice with the material that we have in the dental office to realize a stratification according to the structure and the optical properties that allow us to reproduce the own characteristics of the natural teeth.

This technique allows to realize the tooth in a reproducible form for all postgraduate students, so many times as necessary, and in addition it serves to establish an objective evaluation model in Dental Education.
