Abstract:
The main purpose of the program is to enhance the socioemotional competencies of middle school students through the implementation of an educational program based on socioemotional education. This program is justified by its social, educational, and research relevance, as it aims to address a current and relevant issue for the educational community, offer an innovative and viable proposal to improve the quality of socioemotional skills at the middle school level, and generate knowledge about the effects and implications of such a proposal. It begins with a characterization of the population and a documentary review of other programs with positive results. Based on the specific needs of the target population, the program is designed and implemented using a mixed approach that combines quantitative and qualitative methods. Finally, the findings of the documentary review, including strengths, gaps, and unique aspects, are key in the construction of the program.

From birth, socioemotional skills are part of the human developmental process. It is necessary to promote family and educational development, creating spaces and suitable learning environments to strengthen the intelligence, social, and emotional learning of individuals. However, there is a lack of programs in this area within the educational field.

That is why it is crucial to strengthen socioemotional skills in adolescents, as they begin to relate and interact with their peers in different ways than in childhood. This stage involves a more affective connection that requires learning in decision-making, emotional management, empathy, aimed at establishing healthy relationships.

The social contribution expected from this project is aimed at the following points:
1. Improvement of interpersonal relationships: By promoting the development of social skills, the project can help students establish healthier and more positive relationships with their peers, teachers, and community members. This contributes to a more harmonious school environment and fosters empathy, respect, and collaboration.
2. Prevention of bullying: By strengthening students' social skills, the incidence of bullying can be reduced, promoting a safe and violence-free school climate. Students will learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts peacefully, and show empathy towards others, which can prevent bullying situations.
3. Development of positive leaders: The project can identify and enhance positive leadership among students. By fostering skills such as effective communication, responsible decision-making, and teamwork, a generation of leaders can be cultivated who promote values such as inclusion, justice, and solidarity in their environment.
