Abstract:
The ever-changing business landscape requires a new breed of entrepreneurs who are lifelong learners, tech-savvy, and adaptable to new challenges. And universities are critical for developing entrepreneurial enthusiasm amid students, prompting critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and fostering innovation. Additionally, entrepreneurship encourages creativity and self-reliance, empowering students to pursue their ideas and contribute to economic development.

This systematic literature review aims to comprehensively analyze and synthesize the existing body of research on the application of the Entrepreneurship Competence (EntreComp) framework within university environments. The study follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) structure to provide a rigorous examination of the current state of knowledge regarding EntreComp implementation in higher education.

Put more precisely, we aim to answer the following research questions for the studies on integration of the EntreComp framework in university settings published in the period 2019–2023:
1. How EntreCom is applied in higher education?
2. To what extent it enhances teaching and learning activities?
3. What is correlation between university activities and higher education students’ entrepreneurial abilities?

We will perform an electronic search in the Scopus database. In adherence to PRISMA guidelines, the study will rigorously screen and select articles based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria:
1) centrality of topic: EntreComp should be the focus of the article not a peripheral theme;
2) education level: focus on higher education students and educators (this means we will exclude studies about K-12 classroom);
3) study design: empirical studies that derive knowledge from actual experience rather than theory;
4) language: English written papers.

By adhering to the PRISMA structure, this systematic literature review will provide a comprehensive and transparent analysis of the application of EntreComp framework in university settings. The findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of effective strategies, outcomes, and challenges, informing future research and guiding educators and policymakers in fostering entrepreneurial competences among university students.
