Abstract:
In a contemporary world, it is possible to note contradictory tendencies related to differences between people depending on gender.Traditionally, in society, there are male and female ways of behavior, values, vocational preferences. According to the opinion of many researchers, such division is artificial and leads to imposing restrictions on both genders, causing gender conflict. The importance of this issue is also related to the need for studying and optimization of possibilities for self-actualization, self-improvement of a contemporary personality. For a society individual self-actualization begins to play a really positive role in the case when society is aware of the value, uniqueness of every single person and begins to use his or her essence forces. Above mentioned issues are relevant, need a practical solution and led to conducting theoretical and empirical research. The findings of the research into gender identification of a personality are presented in this article.

The following concepts as “gender identity”, “androgyny”, “masculinity”, “femininity”, etc. were analyzed. Two main approaches are outlined as to the comparison of men and women: biological and socio-cultural. The main theories of researchers were indicated in compliance with these approaches. The research revealed statistically significant differences according to the awareness of gender stereotype by men and women. To elucidate gender-specific features the diagnosed psychological sex was correlated with such parameters as satisfaction with personal self-actualization in life and motivation for success. Mathematical and statistical methods were used to compare these parameters for men and women.

Conclusion was made about the existence of gender differences in the context of motivation for success and the level of satisfaction with self-actualization in life. Conducted research shows the need for gender education of youth, formation of corresponding skills and ways of behavior according to the gender stereotype. Gender education should play an important role in this process.
