Abstract:
This paper presents the results of carrying out continuous evaluation of students of "computer networks" of the Telecommunications Engineering (esp. Sound and Image) of the Superior Polytechnic College of Alicante, by an objective testing tool (the examiner) that is present in Virtual Campus of the University of Alicante.
It is a tool that allows to examine to students in the classroom or remotely, at scheduled times, achieving a continuous and automatic evaluation and the streamlining the numerous ongoing assessment tasks required by the new European Higher Education Area.
In our case we have used the tool to evaluate both theory and practice of the subject. In this sense, up to 50% of the grade of theory comes from the partial results of tests performed with the virtual examiner and up to 80% of lab grade is obtained with this tool.
The results have been quite satisfactory as we can see from the statistics presented in the study. A large majority of students find it useful and interesting the use of these tools in teaching. Keywords:
