Abstract:
There are various educational systems, that have various types of teachers and students. From the ‎complexity of the human relations, countless issues arise, which, in the educational systems, need ‎to be addressed efficiently, in order to have the best possible outcomes for both teachers and ‎students. The major beneficiaries of the educational system are the students, but at the same time, ‎the families and the communities also benefit from a well designed and applied curriculum. There ‎are situations in which teachers leave the profession, become burdened with excessive workloads, ‎and manage difficult and highly difficult work, student, or family relations. The consequences of ‎these are felt within the system, where teachers are prone to developing various levels of stress, ‎anxiety, burnout, and even depression. School management is responsible for creating a working ‎environment, in which teachers can work and function efficiently, without having to do excessive ‎workloads. When school management create the proper work environment, where teachers feel ‎appreciated and protected, thus feeling able and willing to fulfill work related tasks, besides the ‎teaching obligations, teacher attrition is reduced and feelings of self-worth are increased. The issue ‎of work and teaching related well-being is important in the context of school management, since ‎the principal and the other teacher colleagues are the most immediate environment for any teacher. ‎When teachers help one another, and the school management proves efficient in distributing ‎workloads, the classroom management and teacher engagement are more effective, as well, leading ‎to better learning environment for students, better grades, and more engaged students. Besides the ‎administrative issues that are important for job satisfaction, teacher relationships are also important ‎in helping, especially the younger teachers, to adapt and improve in both workload and classroom ‎teaching. Feeling appreciated and protected, together with being helped in organizing ‎administrative and teaching activities, contributes to developing a better understanding of both self-‎worth and purpose in the school environment. As teachers gain experience throughout their career, ‎job satisfaction increases, together with self-efficacy, which are two influential elements in creating ‎an effective learning environment for students. The paper will analyses the connections between ‎teaching experience, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy, based on a questionnaire distributed to ‎teachers in the North-Western schools of Romania. The research describes both the positive and ‎negative aspects of the school environment, that lead to either teacher attrition, stress, and anxiety, ‎or job satisfaction and self-efficacy, together with better learning outcomes for students and a better ‎work environment for teachers. The research also provides suggestions for reducing the negative ‎work and teaching related aspects, as well as improving the working environment for teachers and ‎the learning environment for students.‎
