Abstract:
The text presents an initiative carried out with the aim of facilitating the recovery of previously acquired knowledge and skills, in order to improve the performance levels of previous content, so that a new subject can be taken with better results. These questions have been previously studied in several terms, in different semesters throughout the degree. In a new term, different subjects must be integrated.

The experience has been carried out in a subject of the last semester of the degree in fundamentals of architecture, which has a total of 10 semesters and is taught at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSAM-UPM).

It is the subject "structural design" of the degree in fundamentals of architecture, which is taught in the tenth and last semester. It is the culmination of the learning and practice process related to building structures in the degree. In this last semester, the main objective is to integrate the skills, abilities, competences and knowledge acquired in the subjects taken in the previous semesters related to building structures. An important part of the course consists of applying what has already been studied in previous semesters to concrete cases. However, recalling what was studied in previous semesters is difficult, especially in cases where two full semesters may have passed and students have been focusing on other subjects. In order to facilitate the recovery of acquired knowledge and to be able to take the "structural design" course more profitably, a series of questionnaires have been designed, accompanied by videos in which different basic aspects are recalled for their application in the design of the structure of a building.

The paper describes how the questionnaires are organised, how the videos are arranged and how they can be used by students. It also presents the results of its first application.

In order to organise the initial questionnaire, the skills and abilities that students should have mastered at a creative level in order to be able to follow the course successfully were identified. For each of these skills, several exercises are presented which they should be able to solve with ease. If this is not the case, a series of videos are proposed showing the solutions and the procedures to be followed. In this way, students can practise those skills and abilities they have already achieved and improve their performance level.

The procedure has been applied and a first feedback from the students who used it is given.

The proposed strategy can be applied to other subjects where a large amount of prior knowledge needs to be integrated.
