Abstract:
All over the world, gamification of higher education is becoming an important trend. An increasing number of training courses and educational programs are using gamification technologies, and some training courses are being replaced by serious games. In Russia, gamification technologies of the educational process are still rarely used; only certain techniques and technologies of gamification are used in the educational process. At the same time, the state policy of the Russian Federation is aimed at informatization of the educational process, including the introduction of gamification. The article reveals the problems that currently impede the active introduction of gamification into the educational process in higher education in the Russian Federation. On the example of one of the largest universities in the Russian Federation - the Ural Federal University (UrFU), an analysis and typology of the currently used gamification technologies is carried out. It also makes a conclusion regarding the introduction of new gamification techniques, including serious games, in the educational process at UrFU. An overview of the serious games developed by the authors for implementation in the educational process is given, the characteristics and scope of these games are given. The prospects and possibilities of mass application of gamification technologies in the educational process in the Russian Federation are discussed.
