Abstract:
The learning of the investigative journalism in the classroom requires solid praxis and the application of innovative techniques. In this area is located UNESCO and the Global Investigative Journals, Connectas, associations that promote the severity in the practice of investigative journalism. With the challenge set, it is decided in the Chair of Journalism Research of the Communication Career of the University Technical Particular of Loja, to apply validated techniques: from hypotheses (UNESCO, 2013) and the matrix on parts and master file (Connectas, 2017), to answer the question: is the application of these innovative global techniques adaptable to journalism works of proximity research?

The methodology engaged combines methods or mixed designs with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research is framed in two phases of experimentation: in the classroom using the inverted pyramid of data journalism model (compile, clean, context, combine) to address curricular topics, and outside the classroom, are applied the techniques of investigative journalism from hypothesis and follow-up (action research) through the matrix by parts and master file. The validation of results is done with triangulation by methods and by theory. As a result, a linear and combined contrast of sources is obtained in seven stories of proximity and of interest public. The journalistic deliveries are exhibited in multimedia repositories and with publication projection in local media.
