Abstract:
The paper will present the usefulness of the computer assisted training in the teaching-learning process, as a teaching method that rounds off the traditional educational methods on the one hand, and the critical thinking methods based on the principles of active learning on the other hand. The study is structured on two parts: a theoretical one that presents the advantages of using computer assisted training as a teaching method, and an applied one that presents a research which identifies the usefulness of the computer assisted training in the Romanian educational pre-university system.

In the theoretical part are presented the advantages of using the computer assisted training as a teaching method, such as the customization of the information that is communicated, the individualization of the educational training process, eliminating of the idle hours in learning or the change of the student-teacher relation.

In the applied part are presented the results of a study performed on a group of teachers from the pre-university educational system from Alba and Hunedoara counties. in November –December 2014, study that identified the usefulness of the computer assisted training as teaching method, but also the type of activities where this method proves to be useful both foe teachers and students.
