Abstract:
This study presents an overview and evaluation of Audio Descriptive (AD) clips for visitors at the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore. The sound clips and accompanying videos of the artefacts not only provide an additional layer of information for Visually Impaired (VI) visitors, but also serve as an audio tour for online programmes for audiences who are unable to visit the museum due to the Novel Coronavirus situation. The process of developing the AD clips was evaluated and continually improved by gathering verbal qualitative responses from a trained VI AD consultant. Evaluation is based on structured qualitative responses from both the public and the VI community through semi-structured interviews.
