Abstract:
The study seeks to assess the set-up of design studio environment and how it affects the productivity of the users; Architecture students. The design studio is pertinent to Architecture education globally. The location, geometry of spaces and spatial arrangement are some of the physical factors that affect the usage of these spaces by students and ultimately their level of productivity. In addition to guiding studio design principles that will be identified in the review of literature, Quantitative data also was collected from students from selected schools of architecture in south-west Nigeria. The survey showed how respondents interacted with these spaces, the influence of the spaces on their productivity levels. Findings were established from data from respondents. The paper recommended the environmental practices that should be established to aid students’ productivity in Architecture schools. The findings of the study will provide stakeholders in Architectural schools the verifiable pedestal that will aid the implementation of these factors to improve productivity of students.
