Abstract:
This study identified the measures for the improvement of clothing and textile skill acquisition through effective educational technology programme. The study adopted a survey research design. The area for the study was Lagos state, Nigeria. The population comprised all the lecturers and students in the tertiary institutions offering Home Economics in Lagos state. The sample consisted of 21 lecturers and 90 students randomly drawn from the population. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Data was analyzed using frequencies and mean. The finding revealed among others that there is lack of adequate facilities and equipment for teaching clothing and textiles, lack of skilled clothing and textile lecturers, lack of enough books on clothing construction. Recommendations were made among others that clothing and textile lecturers should be trained and re-trained to acquire more knowledge to be impacted to the students. Keywords:
