Abstract:
Despite still relatively high unemployment rate of 10 percent as of March 2016 in Slovakia many organizations calls the shortage of suitable candidates for open positions. The reason is, among other reasons, lack of qualified graduates who are able to meet the needs of the labor market. The issue of the dual education is nowadays in the Slovak Republic actual and discussed agenda. The development of automotive industry and expected start of production in the new fourth car producer in 2018, leads to pay attention to the dual education by actors from both - public and private sectors. The contribution highlights the current situation regarding the introduction of the dual education in the educational process in the Slovak Republic. The authors explains the issue of secondary vocational schools graduates enforcement which are involved in the dual system of education, and identifies the needs of companies as of employers. The contribution emphasizes the benefits and limits that dual education entails. The enforcement of graduates is examined from two perspectives: first from the secondary vocational schools, as well as specific employers.
