Abstract:
Introduction:
The Brazilian Telehealth Networks Programme is an initiative project of the Ministry of Health, which aims at contributing to the quality of services provided by the Unified Health System (Sistema Unico de Saude, SUS). The programme incorporates training and the integration of health workers and professionals through the use information technology infrastructure and telecommunication to promote Telecare, Second Formative Opinion, Remote Diagnostics and Tele-education. One of the operating areas, the Tele-education, is a distance education service that offers web conferences, classes and courses using a variety of technologies such as video editing and real-time video streaming. The previous web system used to manage these activities has shown some limitations in terms of providing statistics data and other functionalities, which has been required human effort to accomplish these tasks. An entire new platform has been developed to manage the Tele-education service and supply these functionalities.

Objective:
To keep record of all Tele-education activities from the request process until their completion, provide automated simple statistics data and certificates related to them, and also to automate daily-based tasks of the Telehealth Center of the University Hospital of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA). Methodology: The web application has been developed using JSF, PrimeFaces and Bootstrap frameworks, Java programming language and MySql database.

Results:
The current release of the system has speeded up the process of the Tele-education activities management. Also, most of the human-effort-based activities are now done by this application, which enables them to be tracked and computed.

Conclusion:
The results shown by the proposed system have significant implications for the Tele-education activities. This prospective method of data acquisition generates all the metrics for better decision taking and better user experience.
