Abstract:
To reach the best results of educational activities in museums, a special format of student’s social profile was developed by a research group of scholars and educators in collaboration with museums’ curators. The social profile format allows both educators and curators to get a short description of a student with important details, such as interests, personal traits, and cognitive peculiarities. The profile provides not only a list of factual and cognitive traits, but gives a wide spectrum of personal characteristics. An educational research was conducted in several school districts of Moscow where educators and curators use students’ personal profiles to prepare for museum visits. A choice of topics and educational strategies were differentiated based on students’ social profiles. The article describes the social profile format in practical application for school-museum. It explains how one museum visit’s topic could be changed based on profiles’ analysis as well as give examples of such practical outcomes.
