Abstract:
Recommendations and regulations held to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic have severely limited face-to-face meetings, forcing contact across generations to shift to telephone and online forms. Without the use of modern ICT, individuals often found themselves in complete social isolation. This paper aims to analyze the influence of the basic sociodemographic characteristics on adolescents' and young adults' use of modern ICT. Based on statistical significance, the existence or non-existence of a significant relationship between these categories is demonstrated. Where it is possible the results are compared to our previous pre-Covid findings and the change is analyzed. The research sample of 2018 respondents is representative of the Czech adolescents and young adults population. The data was collected from September 2020 to January 2022, i. e. during the period of anti-pandemic measures. The paper identifies specific attitudes to ICT use across the socio-demographic groups and proposes options for pedagogical intervention within formal and non-formal learning.
