Abstract:
Taking into account that European Higher Education Area evaluation criteria assess not only the acquisition of cognitive skills, but also specific responsibilities for the development of the professional profile, the Department of Physiology from Seville University has been including new evaluation systems and innovation activities every year since the Course 2006-07. In this context, in the Pharmacy Degree, the great amount of students enrolled in each group of theory classes clearly difficults the correct development of the new evaluation systems to analyse the transversals skills acquisition by the students. However in Master Courses, where the number of students is reduced, and their motivation for the subject is increased, we have found an interesting activity to develop and evaluate transversals skills. This innovation activity is based on a competition to find ideas for the development of a Congress related to the subject “Physiology of the Digestive System". The students have to defend an information brochure containing all the information related to the Congress. They used all the tools needed for wining the competition. At the end, student and teachers evaluate the transversal skills acquired; they deduced that 9 skills were well developed during the innovation activity. The main transversal skill acquisition detected was the creativity, one of the first skills desired for the professional business. Keywords:
