Abstract:
The emergence of virtual spaces for social interaction affects the formation of the symbolic, as it impinges on the notions of space, of time, of the future, of otherness, of community, of identity...
The evolution of the Internet is based on the development of mechanisms, strategies and systems that facilitate the creation of such social settings. Thus, in the Red Universal Digital systems provide new social partnership model creation and reception of shared information (banks images, sounds, videos, blogs, podcasting, wikis, syndication… digital content), knowledge management (2.0 browsers, bookmarks social, personalization of information, directories social geoposicionamiento ...), and social relationships networks and virtual communities, multiplayer environments, communication systems… Network, which are used by all citizens, but especially for the digital natives, to carry out an intensive vital activity.

We work in the university with digital Natives who have been borned with New media and New Technologies, we are introducing in our communication and advertising classes the tools that they use in their normal days and relationships.

On the other hand the use of these tools helps the incorporation to the professionals' labour market that the New Technologies of the Information dominate what will facilitate the labour insertion to them on a market dominated by the new media.
A significant example are the technological relations implicit in the Social Networks that carry a substantial change in the forms of participation, making of the same ones an educational instrument and of work that, in a polyvalent way, helps itself the user to join all the personal and professional aspects. A profile in Facebook involves a position in an environment of multilocal and multifunctional access that carries an action and situation in the universe of the virtual that, in a functional way, stimulates contexts of direct participation.
One of the areas in which the integrations of these new tools can enhance and strengthen the production of new interactive possibilities, is education. Experiences such as the virtual campus, the digital blackboard or the virtual classroom are becoming more and more used in this field, although the experience related to social networks is still to be determined.
The objective of the research that we present is to analyze the new possibilities implied in introducing social networks as an educational tool and thus demonstrate the efficiency of New Technologies in the academic work. We part from an analysis of the main applications that can help to verify its validity; once this point is clear we have introduced these tools in the classrooms creating a site in Facebook where students can interact through consensual and defined proposals in an analytical way, looking for specific interests for each one of the subjects.
Through different questionnaires we have analyzed the students’ perception before and after the implementation of the new model, and this will allow us to obtain quantitative and qualitative information on the different forms of interaction (professor-student, student-student, student-professor), as well as the quality indexes given by the users and the indicators of usage – all of which will facilitate the knowledge of different profiles in an indoor scenario affected by the entrance of a virtual space, such as the classroom.
