Abstract:
Padlet (www.padlet.com) is an interactive wall that allows the user to share multimedia resources from different sources. It is an online tool, created in 2012, easy to use, which allows the user to store different types of articles on the wall (text, images, videos, etc.). Because of these characteristics, Padlet has been used to support educational activities in different areas of knowledge, but our interests are focused on Chemistry, our area of expertise. The objective of this work is to know how the Padlet has been used in the teaching of Chemistry. For this, a bibliographic search was carried out in the Journal of Chemical Education, in all its editions, using the keyword “padlet”. The survey of all articles was carried out considering the temporal interstice until February/2023. 13 articles were identified with this search. The content analysis of the 13 articles was guided by the following analysis categories: 1) publication period considering the temporal classifications designated as “pre-pandemic” (published until 2019), “pandemic” (published between 2020 and 2021) and “post -pandemic” (published from 2022); 2) Level of Education (undergraduate, basic education, or other); 3) area of chemistry (organic chemistry, general chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry); 4) chemistry theme addressed in the study (periodic table, chemical reactions, organic functions,...); 5) description of how the Padlet was used. Interesting findings emerged from the analysis, including: the padlet is used as a technological tool to support/enable the development of activities; regarding the period of publication, of the 13 articles, none were published until 2019 (pre-pandemic), during the pandemic period there were 9 publications; and, from 2022, post-pandemic, there were 4 productions; the Padlet is predominantly used for undergraduate course activities. Further details of the articles and findings of this research will be presented in the final paper.
