Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to describe a research that is being carried out with a group of a community in the district of Manhiça, in the locality of Calanga in Mozambique on the water situation consumed by the participants of this research.

This study will address the situation that the community of the present study has never benefited from treated water that normally comes from the public distribution network, resorting sources of water that are not treated, as is the case of shallow wells with very small dimensions and that many is shared with the animals of the region, generating a serious health risk.

Scientific studies on the water consumed are being carried out in Calanga and also a work of raising awareness and awareness with the population about the health problems that can be acquired when consuming contaminated water.

The sensitization and awareness - raising meetings held with the partipants on the water problem faced in the Calanga community, the results of the analyzes on the samples of harvested water, the methodology used and the benefits for the community will be described on this research.
