Abstract:
The purpose of this research paper is to identify, analyze, and compare differences about using of case study method in higher education from the students perspective in the Balkans. A variation of quantitative statistical methods was applied, together with on-line surveying technique. The research included 128 students in six countries in the Balkans: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), and Slovenia. The respondents had different level of previous experience in learning with case studies. The main aim of this paper is to present the students opinion related to case study approach in the class in higher education process in the Balkan region and to suggest direction for improvement. Throughout this paper we tried to understand, what are the benefits and obstacles for students learning with case study. Also we investigated adaptation of case studies for specific markets and countries. Based on gathered findings we propose a universal framework for teachers – that could use findings of this study for more effective class discussion with case study among students. We also suggest a framework for teachers which could help them to improve learning process with case study.
