Abstract:
The article focuses on the issue of educational activities with were carried out with the aim of improvement of educational process for students of various branches of health care, such as general medicine, public health, nursing, midwifery, dentists, professional but also for broad public which is interested in getting new information on microbiology and immunology. Information is possible to obtain at the educational portal of Jessenius Faculty of Medicine (JFM) at the Comenius University in Martin (Slovakia), which was created within the framework of project MEFANET (MEdical FAculties Educational NETwork).
Educational portal was development in cooperation between Medical Faculties in Slovak and Czech Republic using modern Information and Communication Technologies. Portal allows to present a wide range of didactical tools that are created at the JFM to support education. Published materials can be prepared at different range, starting with simple presentations and ending with sophisticated pedagogical works. Authors of published materials can also specify the users that can access the published materials. Typical users are non-registered anonymous user, registered anonymous user, who accepts the terms of use within his registration, registered anonymous user, who is the user of educational network MEFANET, registered user, student or teacher of a study program accredited at JFM. Portal users are navigated by means of horizontal menu - content section, vertical menu – types of published materials, portal services, filter of medical disciplines, simple and advanced search function.
At the portal there is a part realized in the framework of project “Microbiology not only for medical students”. Aims of the project were to prepare the first e-learning site on microbiology, the interactive tool for distant education, educational material for self-study with the feedback of a self-evaluation. The practical and lectures of Microbiology and Immunology are widely used interactive tools among the teaching methods which serve as a possibility for learning but there are also used applied methods. In the project students and professionals become familiar with e-learning site on microbiology interactive tools for distance education and educational material for self-study and self-evaluation.
