Abstract:
In the presented study, our ambition is to emphasize the importance of developing the creative potential of journalism students. Nowadays we need to redefine the importance of the new media in terms of applying and using the creativity of future journalists. From this point of view, it is important to find a balance between the inconsistency of the fact that the man is inherently conservative, but society is constantly creating demands for new changes, which must be implemented in practice. It is important to set up the teaching process so that mature individuals, who will know how to process texts with difficult and serious issues, come into practice. Undoubtedly, this is also related to the thorough preparation of future journalists. In the process of educating journalism students, it is extremely important that, in addition to acquiring theoretical knowledge, they also acquire practical skills so that, in addition to developing their own abilities and strengths, they can achieve their goals in a creative way. Despite the fact that the journalistic profession is based on facts and the promotion of the highest possible degree of objectivity - creativity can undermine this concept - but there are still at least two aspects in which journalists can use creativity. Firstly, in terms of how they grasp individual genres in the online environment, to what extent they use their basic specific features, and secondly, how creatively they approach topics that may seem uninteresting and unattractive to recipients (as well as publishers). In our text, we will notice how is possible in various ways, or exercises to develop language and thinking, how to creatively inform or what are the external or internal barriers to creativity (environment, time, uncertainty, conflict, stress, etc.). We will also notice what activation techniques can be used or how to support creative personal growth. The presented study is a summarising and connecting text of many views on the development of creativity within the personality of the future journalist. Based on our personal twenty years of experience with teaching journalists, we know that in the educational process it is necessary to strive to support the creative potential of students. It is important to offer a practical, creative dimension of study so that students come to practice adequately prepared. The journalists' publishing space is currently moving from print media to the online space at great speed. And as contemporary journalists are required to be multiskilled, their creative potential and thinking need to be developed. The benefit of the research will be its consistent and applicable connection to the educational process, as based on summary concepts, subsequent identification of penetrations from renowned experts and real research results, we will be able to define in which areas to support students and in which invention and creativity need to be developed more consistently.
