Abstract:
The article deals with interdisciplinary relations because in the field of education in the Czech Republic this issue is probably not given enough attention, which can be deduced from this, that some research articles or studies on this topic are difficult to trace in last years. The problem may not be in the monitored issues but in inconsistencies in terminology. Maybe there are articles and studies, but the authors use other synonyms in their titles e.g. inter-subject relations, cross-curricular relations, transversal relations, which may not even be synonyms. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the terminology first in a specific educational environment, i.e. in the educational environment of the Czech Republic.

Project NATURE of the University of Ostrava, which Palacký University in Olomouc also takes part in, is aimed at strengthening pedagogical competencies of elementary school teachers in natural science subjects (nature science, chemistry, physics and geography) including interdisciplinary relations with mathematics.

During the realization of the project, worksheets on human motion systems and anthropometry from the field of natural science were prepared. In addition to biology experts, the didactics, psychologists, special educators, as well as representatives of the interdisciplinary project group monitoring interdisciplinary relationship with mathematics work together. Worksheets were subjected to pilot verification in teaching to get feedback from collaborating teachers.

Information and suggestions from teachers but also from didactics, psychologists, special educators and others, who had the opportunity to follow a pilot survey or analyze video documentation, are taken into account and incorporated into updated versions of worksheets.

The article defines issues of interdisciplinary relations and theoretically defines the framework of action research conducted in teaching with the support of worksheets prepared in the project NATURE. In the follow-up article, we will bring the results of the action research carried out in schools using these new worksheets to support the educational process that respects not only the individual potential of each pupil but also the interdisciplinary nature of teaching.
