Abstract:
This paper looks at the Bologna process and its effects on the harmonisation of higher education in Europe. It starts by presenting the Bologna process from the perspective of its aims, priorities, tools, then it looks at different opinions, pros and cons the process and some specific experiences with the Bologna process. Romania is taken as a particular country case study to look at the changes that took place in its higher education sector in the light of its progress related to the Bologna process. The paper concludes with appreciations related to the influence of Bologna process on the harmonisation of higher education in Europe.
