Abstract:
Nowadays, Romania receives substantial European Union funding for stimulating the business environment. Out of such funding, creation of start-ups and spin-offs uses an important amount. But, in order to guarantee a healthy development of new businesses and reduce business mortality, meeting the need of preparing future entrepreneurs is one major objective of both European and national policies. In this respect, our major research question has appeared: who are those people who prepare human resources in the field of entrepreneurship? Hence, this paper herein answers the question by identifying the profile of Romanian entrepreneurship teacher/trainer based on a qualitative research instrument used with respondents who participated to entrepreneurship courses either with secondary schools, universities, vocational training schools or other institutions. Based on our experience in the field of entrepreneurship education, we also herein provide a method of assessing the quality of entrepreneurship education not only from the point of view of teacher’s or trainer’s own education and experience background with entrepreneurship and business, but also related to personal qualities, skills and research. Thus, our conclusion is that people who teach/train future entrepreneurs need to be role-models in this field, specifically sharing their own experiences as entrepreneurs.
