Abstract:
The article presents the results of the setAR - Safe Earthworks Training with the use of Augmented Reality project (2020-1-PL01-KA202-081555) which is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program. The main goal of the project is to reduce the number of accidents occurring on construction sites during earthworks.

The setAR project deals with health and safety rules as one of its goals is to reduce accidents at construction sites. Earthworks are, unfortunately, one of the most dangerous works carried out on a construction site. Work in the company of heavy machinery, large elevations, or the possibility of landslides are the causes of many fatal accidents.

As research shows, employees are not interested in classic training methods. The use of mobile devices (smartphones, tablets), modern AR technology, and supporting multimedia files makes setAR training interesting and memorable.

Developed training systems, based on modern IT technology – Augmented Reality (AR), are being constantly improved by the most influential companies all over the world. Being used, among others, in training for pilots, F1 drivers, and military personnel, it is safe to say, that AR is the future of high-quality work-based VET.
