Abstract:
Although Journalism is one of the early arising professions in Vietnam, journalism training has many problems. In this article, the authors study the need to improve Vietnamese language proficiency for journalism students in Vietnamese universities through participants' survey. The article examines why it is needed to improve journalism students' language skills, points out the language errors that students often make, simultaneously suggests the form of study and the way to organize lessons for students, particularly students in Multimedia, Thang Long University. The study aims to provide solutions for improving the Vietnamese language proficiency for Thang Long University communication students in particular, and students in Vietnamese universities in general. The research will make an essential contribution to enriching journalism students' quality, supporting them to gain knowledge for future jobs, especially for those who are working related to writing, such as a copywriter or journalist. The article will also invent a vital contribution to changing the teaching method of journalism in Vietnamese universities.
