Abstract:
At the beginning of the 21st century, with incredible changes in socio-economic, the education in Vietnam has a lot of attainments. That is why Vietnam has frequently been cited in the realm of education (Anh et al., 1995; Fraser, 1993). The Vietnamese Communist Party said that education is the first priority of national policy. They provide basic education for everybody and assert that livelong education is the right and responsibility of each citizen. Besides it, education is also a key factor for social progress and for reducing the gaps between the various socio - economic groups and sexs. Based on the statistic results from the Household living standards surveys in recent years, we find positive changes in Vietnamese education: the literacy rate of people is relatively high; enrollment and attainment rates in every school (primary, lower secondary, higher secondary and university) have increased across the country; and the school drop out rates has decreased yearly.
