Abstract:
This paper presents the development of a software named Nutricando in the form of an educational game. The development of this work aims to collaborate in a playful way with nutrition and food education for children aged from 7 to 9 years. Childhood obesity has been considered an epidemic, with a tendency to increase more and more. In Brazil, it reaches 31.6% of children between 7 and 9 years. Therefore, it is of extreme importance the developing of an educational software in the area of food and nutrition as a strategy to reverse this nutritional reality profile of children. The software, mode game, is intended to be a support tool for parents and teachers organized in activities exploring the child’s creativity and imagination, which will provide a form of education in favor of healthy eating, thus initiating a process of training identity feed. The activities are based on the dietary guidelines "Food Pyramid" and "My Plate", divided into 3 types. The first mode will offer the child to fill a plate and will be evaluated for their nutritional quality. The second method aims to test the child's knowledge about the composition of foods. The third method proposes the child to answer where foods are found in different regions of the country, adding geographical concepts. The continuity of the work provides for the trial of the software by the students of the public schools in São Borja (Brazil), with professional supporting in nutrition area.
