CHILD LABOR AND THE IMPACT ON THE DROPOUT OF STUDENTS FROM MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS IN RURAL AREAS OF THE CITY OF MANAUS / AMAZONAS

Abstract:
Introduction:
Child labor is one of the most serious social problems of Brazil. According to data from the Information System on child labor cases of the Ministry of Labor, the Amazon in the last five years, a total of 1,044 children and adolescents were found and rescued working in business and degrading illegal domestic activities. As Brazil Convention signatory on the Rights of the Child 1989, which provides for the child's right to labor protection that threaten their health, education and development, Brazil is against the other emerging countries. This research shows that because of the inefficiency of public policies for prevention, which are extremely important to be created ways to eradicate child labor, the impact on minors and their determination as the cause of school leavers to remain present the twenty-first century. In addition, since 1990, Brazil has the Statute of Children and Adolescents as a highly advanced legal instrument in comparison with other countries, however, although it advocates a global policy of child care, the implementation of effective actions and continuous to prevent child labor are waning. Year after year, governments who were ahead of the Brazilian state, have created welfare benefits aimed at the permanence of our children in schools. However, the absence of supervision and the existence of other public policies that clash, are factors that have hindered the success of benefits in this occupation. The reality of selected public schools and their students 1th to 6th. year of elementary school, was the object of this research.

Methodology:
The article was constructed from the on-site visit in 10 municipal schools in the rural area of the city of Manaus. After, questionnaires were applied considering the students' prior knowledge on the subject, obtained from recreational activities and plays, as a way to make them understand what child labor is. They used different strategies for the student enrolled to the 6th year of primary school think, reflect, analyze and build knowledge and reach the conviction of the need that we need to invest in their studies. Questionnaires were also applied to parents, guardians and teachers after conducting lectures on the law applicable to the smallest, with a view to raising awareness of the problem of child labor and its consequences in truancy. Later, data that supported the conclusion of the article were tabulated. Goals. This article aims to present the degrading influences of child labor in the quality of primary school education of children studying in rural municipal network in Manaus / Amazonas. Present the results of the collection of the questionnaires. Demonstrate that the objectives inserted in the legislation on the subject, has not been achieved.

Conclusion:
The dropout of primary school students of municipal schools in the rural area of Manaus / AM partly stems from the absence of effective public policies and partly because awareness processes of the competent authorities, but child labor is still a factor that prevents the quality of education as well as the permanence of the student.
