Abstract:
Education is considered as the most important factor for the development of individuals and nations. Individuals granted knowledge and skills enabling them to develop in the labor market, better income levels and improve their quality of life, for nations, education is a mechanism that promotes equality, reduces poverty and strengthens democracy.
While the direct relationship between education and development is a valid principle, the reality is that not all people have the same opportunities for access to education, there are remote communities and in marginal conditions where people have severe problems accessing these services and have to travel long distances to find a school, especially if it is higher education.
This article discusses the educational performance of schools located in disadvantaged areas and evaluates the cost of access to educational services caused by the dispersion of the population. It also assesses the feasibility of implementing educational support through internet in concordance with the characteristics of usability of ICT on pupils, teachers, schools and the communication infrastructure in communities.
Keywords:
Educational backwardness, usability of ICT, Internet as support for education.
