Abstract:
Risky behaviour, or socially undesirable behaviour, such as addictions, crime, violence or bullying, represent a significant set of dangers for certain social groups worldwide. They are a substantial risk, especially for children and young people, as such behaviour lead to a demonstrable increase in health, social, educational, economic and other risks, both for individuals and for the society. Patterns of risky behaviour can be influenced by preventive interventions, and therefore it is important to prepare vulnerable groups for similar situations in advance, and thus systematically eliminate its overall effects. Efforts to improve preventive measures have also been documented by numerous legislative documents at the national level, trying to set priorities in this field, to create links and structures of entities involved in the implementation of prevention and to create material, personnel and financial support necessary to meet the objectives. Preventive action must therefore be an integral part of primary and secondary school education.
The topic concerned is focused on the cooperation of schools and the Police of the Czech Republic in the implementation of preventive educational activities. Specifically, the aim of the paper is to map the scope and forms of focus on the prevention of risky behaviour of secondary school students through preventive programmes of the Police of the Czech Republic. The importance of the issue is illustrated by structured interviews at the level of regional prevention coordinator, and methodologists of territorial departments, which factually described the current state of coordination and organization of prevention programmes of the Police of the Czech Republic in cooperation with secondary schools, and revealed space for possible changes leading to the development of this field. An important finding is that the risk prevention system as a whole is still evolving. The police adapt the focus of preventive educational activities to the needs of schools, flexibly respond to current possible risks, and the needs of a changing society, especially children and youth. Keywords:
