Abstract:
In line with the requirements of modern society there is a continuous development and innovation in technologies which is also reflected in the field of education. Today’s students are getting used to working with technologies from their early age; it may even happen that teachers can be at a disadvantage compared to them. Teachers are thus faced with different demands to keep up with time, to update and develop their technology competence to be able to use such technologies effectively in their teaching. It is therefore necessary for teachers to have an overview of the range of available educational technologies, to be interested in the methodology of their appropriate integration in the classroom, to keep up with the news and trends in this area and overall they should be able to make reasonable use of all the potential that educational technologies offer.

In this context, the paper deals with the issue of what idea teachers have about the possibility of using educational technologies, and whether and how they specifically integrate them into the education process. Namely, the aim of the paper is to find out teachers’ awareness of available educational technologies in general, the availability of these technologies at their workplace, the frequency of integration of educational technologies into their teaching, and possibly the barriers that are the cause of their minimal use. The target group consists of teachers of vocational subjects specializing in environmental education at selected secondary vocational schools. The method for realizing the research intention was a quantitative survey.
