Abstract:
The society is undergoing different changes during any time period, but each era is characterized by specific tends and context. Culture of 21st century is predominated by postmodernism that is characterized by specific rearrangements that are reflected in science, politics, arts, education, etc. The dynamic change of contemporary world determines not only the need to adapt oneself, but also the ability to maintain personally recognized values irrespective of the fact that the classic and traditional understandings and ideas experience new interpretations. On the base of the postmodernism signs defined by the USA literal theorist Ihab Hassan, the article analyses the context of education processes of these features. When looking for the answers – what are the development trends and ideals of a society, attention is paid to education planning documents in Latvia and European Community in general. By marking a new paradigm in the education, it is studied how a teacher, his/her everyday work strategic functions are characterized. At the same time the topic issues of pedagogical technologies in preparation of teachers in Latvia are gathered.
