Abstract:
The paper presents the perception of students regarding the advantages and disadvantages given by the e-learning and mobile learning applications during the COVID-19 pandemic. The present paper analyzes the types of e-learning applications that are used in the current pandemic situation. Due to the large number of COVID-19 cases, the traditional learning has been reduced or even dramatically blocked as many schools and educational institutions were forced to shut. Research has implied that online learning via particularly designed applications has turned out to be effective as a way to increase retention of information. Teaching has experienced a theatrical change as it had to adapt to remote learning and digital platforms. It is certain that this pandemic has disrupted an educational system that already found itself in collapse as it began losing its relevance. The originality of the paper is given by the fact that there isn’t any other work that has approached this subject from the students’ point of view, which are nowadays facing a real struggle with e-learning platforms and had to adapt to a new, more or less effective way of learning. Of great interest in the present paper is the analysis of the existent e-learning and mobile learning apps which was made as a comparison between the most popular used apps. As for the statistical part of the paper we used the simple linear regression (least squares method). Within this paper we have conducted a quantitative study by means which we set out to identify the main advantages and disadvantages perceived by students during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding their online learning activity. The data analysis was made with the help of the IBM SPSS program.
