Abstract:
By definition, democracy means a society for everybody, a society that gives equal chances, the possibility to bring to good use the multiple identities, aptitudes and talents. Yet, we notice that at its core there are certain discrepancies among the various social categories, some categories being more disadvantaged compared to others.

Romanian society is also confronted with an exclusion phenomenon, the marginalisation of a significant number of social categories, a phenomenon that has serious repercussions both in the personal development plan and in the consolidation of democracy. The Roma represent one of the main disadvantaged categories in Romania.

The paper intends to define inclusive education and to analyse its necessity and difficulties in the context of the globalized world. The study tries to present the interferences between democratic education – inclusive education and the intercultural one. The analysis focuses on identifying the forms, the strategies, the methods and the educational practices used in the Romanian educational system, especially to include the Roma.
