Abstract:

The architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry is on the threshold of a new industrial age. One of the main tasks of Industry 4.0 is digitization of AEC industry. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a step in this direction, as it creates a digital database of information of a building object. BIM is one of the main directions in the development of construction today, so the level of awareness of this technology is very important at the stage of higher education. Various motivational and educational activities were carried out to raise awareness of BIM technologies for students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice in Slovakia. To find out the level of awareness of graduates in 2017-2019 a questionnaire survey was carried out. The aim of the survey was to evaluate the effectiveness of motivational and educational activities. Specifically motivational and educational activities are introduce and survey results are evaluated in the article.
