Abstract:
The nature of universities as academic organizations demands a harmonious teaching-learning environment conducive for research and community service roles of lecturers. However, literature has revealed that conflicts abound in Nigerian universities, these conflicts pose challenge to research and community service functions of lecturers.The study investigates the influence of lecturer- management conflict on job performance effectiveness of university lecturers in Cross River state, with regards to research and community service. One research question and one research hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. The population comprises 1, 369 lecturers. The stratified sampling technique will be used to select the sample of 240 university lecturers. The survey research design will be adopted for the study. Data for the study will be collected using the Organizational Conflict, Community Service and Research Effectiveness Questionnaire (OCCSREQ). The data will be analyzed using One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical technique. Appropriate recommendations will be made from the result of the analysis
