In our work we have combined these two methods with the prevalence of the inductive method. The study was carried out in three stages and involved 58 students. At the first stage, establishing, monitoring was carried out. At the second stage – practical, we created exercises that should help develop conversation skills. The third stage was controlling, that is, monitoring, checking the results achieved. After analyzing the errors made, we developed a set of exercises based on the new teaching materials and proceeded to the practical stage, which lasted 6 months.
Modern educational technologies in the field of teaching foreign languages, such as games, ICT, contribute to the formation of students’ conversation skills. Therefore, the fundamental principles of training were the principle of collective activity, independence, creativity, authenticity of educational materials. Teaching methods and techniques were selected taking into account personal factors and individual psychological characteristics of the participants in the educational process.
For the experiment, criteria for evaluating the answers of students were developed and compiled. The main mistakes made in the work were analyzed. After analyzing the mistakes made, a set of exercises was developed based on the new teaching materials, focused on the use of an application for mobile devices. At the practical stage, online meetings were held with students from Argentina. The analysis of the work done at the control stage revealed the achievement of average indicators. Students made fewer mistakes. They began to speak English more confidently, replenished their vocabulary, brushed up on their skills of unity of speech, and intonation.
