Abstract:
Current global environmental problems in terms of the future development of the planet are of interest to the general public in all economically developed countries of the world. This fact is reflected to varying degrees by all educational systems. In various contexts, ecological issues are included in lesson plans at all stages of the educational process. Today's university students will influence the economic and social reality of the world with their attitudes and opinions in the near future. Due to their education, the vast majority of them can be expected to have broad decision-making powers and a high degree of responsibility in their work positions.
The aim of the presented contribution is to evaluate the attitudes of university students towards environmental issues in general and to find out their perception and satisfaction with the level of environmental education during their university studies.
To process the theoretical part of the article, the method of examining documents using databases of scientific articles was used. The primary research was carried out by means of a questionnaire survey, electronically. The respondents were university students in the Czech Republic, aged 18-26, in bachelor's and master's degrees.
The results show that young people show great sensitivity to environmental issues and are aware of their importance. The highest level of satisfaction with the inclusion of environmental issues in the taught subjects is shown by students of the master's degree.
