Abstract:
Analyzing the legislative issue of education is a particularly topical and important issue, in the context in which the Covid 19 pandemic has led to fundamental paradigm shifts.

The educational policy of Romania and the Republic of Moldova is based on the principles of accessibility, adaptability, creativity and diversity, considering education as democratic and humanistic, open and flexible, formative and developmental and based on the values of national and universal culture.

This article highlights the educational policies that have been implemented in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, especially in higher education, which has undergone multiple legislative changes in recent years. All these changes were based on the necessity of synchronizing the higher education system of the two neighbouring countries mentioned above with European quality standards; adapting higher education to the conditions required by the EU, thus guaranteeing the necessary compatibility and competitiveness on the European university market, which encourages the academic mobility of the actors involved.

Considering the fact that both the Romanian traditional education system and the Moldovan one are marked by both similarities and differences regarding the EU legislation in force, the present study aims to analyze legislative reforms and the implementing.
