Abstract:
The core of quality assurance is continuous improvement. All activities in the famous PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle can be viewed as having the identical ultimate goal of continuous improvement. Each cycle of internal and external assessment results in a set of valuable suggestions from experts in the field. To implement these suggestions usually takes much time and effort. This is where technologies can be of great help. We focus our discussion on one very promising technology that can speed up this process of improvement identification to improvement realization cycle: the BPM (Business Process Management) technology. Utilizing BPM for quality assurance in education not only provide high level of agility to adapt the visions, policies, strategies, operations and key performance indicators (KPI's) to the new target, but also facilitate assessment preparation by being able to generate traces of actions that are performed by related task performers. This paper provides analysis of main quality assurance processes that can be modeled in BPM environments. Keywords:
