Abstract:
Paper shows a stages of changing Internet society. From strictly academic network to popular, even under-class, entertaiment.
At the begining the internet was only a other tool of academics. This stage remained for 20 years. In a begining of 90' becouse of main factors such as development of technology, getting IT equipment and services cheaper, development of internet services it started getting more and more popular. Now days The internet is not only a medium, but it contains all the other media such a Television, radio and newspaper - so we have full right to call it meta-medium. What comes with it is transition of web content - demotion. The conclusion is quite sad - the Internet reflects sociaty level and needs. It explains the huge number of websites offering a content not that demanding. Millions of erotic websites, rumors- sites, funny pictures and movies, simple web games. The ratio of the internet's high-ranked content to low-ranked content clearly reflects the same ratio on other medias. There is so much a low entertaiment in TV, as well in newspapers. It's just so much easier to come accros it in The Global Network.
