Abstract:
Security threats have become a phobia for android, iOS (originally iPhone Operating System) mobile users alike. Smartphone security threats are making headlines every day. Android operating system has covered around 75% of the global smart phone market share. Android malware, Ransomware, Spyware and Banker Trojan are the front-page threats to mobile operating system like Android. As the global smartphone market slows, it is becoming readily apparent that the rise of smartphone security is not slowing down. In order to protect its open source pool, Android has introduced security enhancements like Security Enhancement for Android and Containerization. This Paper will show that these kind of enhancements are positive but not enough to protect from getting infected of malicious program, losing personal data, leaking corporate data or exposing of kernel vulnerabilities.
