Abstract:
In recent years, increasing investment in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in general, and in E-learning in particular, has allowed many countries to implement innovative and improved methods of teaching and learning at various levels of the academic ladder. This also includes new forms of resources. However, the use of E-learning technology in teaching and learning is still limited in particular countries. This paper explores and discusses the in-school factors that influence the readiness of both students and teachers to make use of E-learning in Saudi Arabia. It is based on an in-depth qualitative research using group interviews with eight teachers and 16 students as participants. The data were analysed thematically under two main factors – perceived provision of equipment and perceived school support. The overall results suggested that in-school can and does influence students and teachers readiness towards the use of E-learning.Keywords:
